I am SUPER excited to have hit 100 followers last week! When I started this blog last summer, I really had no idea if anyone would ever read it... let alone that I would have people follow me! I have loved every minute of blogging...especially hearing your feedback and comments. I also LOVE getting emails from people about their classrooms or asking me questions about mine! This has been such a great place to be able to collaborate with so many fabulous teachers. My classroom has become a more engaging place thanks to all the ideas I have got from some of your blogs! I guess my point is that I am so grateful to all of you...so to show my gratitude, I decided to try out a true blog give-away contest! The prize is your pick of any product from my Teachers Pay Teachers Store.
I have never done this before, so hoping this works!

Congratulations on your milestone! Also, thank you for the great resources. They have been very helpful for my son.
ReplyDeleteThe goals I have set for this summer are updating my son's PODD , printing and laminating pages. It's a process, but one so worth it. Also, to view all the TOUCHCHAT tutorials and learn how to use the app to it's fullest.
Congrats!! I have several of your products and love using them with my kids!! I'm moving grades (from 3/4 to 1/2) so I'm hoping I get the swing of things and can really help my kids become independent thinkers and people! That is one of the hardest things (in my opinion) and one I constantly work on!!

IM a first year teacher so everything is going to be new for me! . I just volunteered at a TEACCH training and learned so much! My goal is to be consistent, make my students as independent as possible and make awesome tasks for my kiddos!
ReplyDeleteOne thing I'm changing is I'm going to add M.A.T.H. rotations!I experimented around a little with it the last couple weeks of school to see if could work with my diverse classroom and it went well! Looking forward to diving in at full speed next year!

One thing I want to change is to make a monthly newsletter for the families. I used to always do it which helped me with my planning but the last few years I've gotten away from it.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on 100 followers! I think will be teaching a PDD classroom this summer and am going to busy planning and prepping for this new group of kiddos!

Congratulations on 100 followers! Your blog is one of my favorites and I look forward to every post. I am changing programs, from a mild to moderate self contained classroom, to a brand new autism program but I stay in the same classroom. There will be many changes as a result but I am taking this opportunity to become more organized, to purge my current materials (I border on being a hoarder), and to do better with deadlines.
ReplyDeleteI want to work on fluency on a consistent basis, I have let other things get in the way. Your post about your fluency station motivated me to get with it! thank you, and congrats on your milestone!

Yay! 100 followers! I love being one of them.
ReplyDeleteNext year will be my first year teaching. I will be in a junior high ALE. I am hoping to overplan everything and have backups for my backups so I can survive my first year. Your site has really helped me!

I cannot believe you only have 100 followers. I think your ideas are amazing and I look forward to your email every day.
ReplyDeleteI would love to change some of the ideas I use to teach. You have helped with that goal this year. I also need to learn some way to help a student who struggles with math. I cannot use manipulatives as everything goes directly into his mouth. Thank you for all your ideas.

Congratulations! Data, Data, Data!! My staff and I need to be more consistent. I am going to try and have some of my students record their own data over the summer and see how it goes. I am also considering a bulletin board displaying our data and learning efforts.
ReplyDeleteYour blog is such a great resource. Keep up the great work.
ReplyDeleteI am looking forward to implementing a new hands on science curriculum and using the n2y newspaper with my kids.
ReplyDeleteYour blog is such a great resource. You have many great ideas to share! I have actually set many goals for myself but it all boils down continuing to improve my effectiveness as a teacher to promote student independence. There are always new things to learn, new ideas to try, etc! Can't wait to try some of your ideas in the upcoming year.
ReplyDeleteI teach a high school self contained classroom. I'm getting several new students and less help than last year. However, I will not let it get me down! I'm excited to start planning, and I want to plan more meaningful independent work. Oh...I really want to get a better center routine down, for all subject areas! I love your blog, teaching students with special needs takes a team, and it takes sharing!!! I love everything you share.
ReplyDeleteHi Hailey! I stumbled across your blog some time ago and immediately knew it was one to follow! You have amazing ideas that are spot on when teaching this population of students. I am a Special Education teacher for students with moderate/severe disabilities, including autism. Your style definitely is similar in the way I present things. Your students are truly blessed to have you as their teacher! I was hoping to start my own blog to share my ideas and find fellow teachers to collaborate with but I just can't seem to find the time!! I don't know how you do it!! I am over obsessive organized but there just aren't enough hours in the day. Anyway, THANK-YOU. For sharing your resources with us!!
ReplyDeleteI want to get my Early Childhood teachers to use AAC on a more consistent basis!
ReplyDeleteThere are so many things on my to-do list, but my priority is adjusting my classroom set up (both the physical structure and the curriculum structure) in preparation for my brand new group of students! All 7 of my current students are moving on to high school, and the group I am about to get have more academic skills. I'm excited to try new things next year! I love your blog and get so many great ideas and inspirations from you Hailey! Thanks so much!
ReplyDeleteI started using some of your products this past school year and the kids really liked them. I have two class rooms to use one has been known as the apartment and the other is the learning side. At the end of the year we started revamping our apartment side and it's going to be more of a lifeskills type room. We broke it off like you did your lifeskills room and now I am making/planning all the activities to do in there. I think the kids are going to be surprised when they come back in the fall.
ReplyDeleteMy goal is to add centers to my classroom, my school was destroyed in the may 20 tornado in Moore. My district has told us where we will be temporarily located next school year while rebuilding is in progress. So in addition to setting up a new classroom I want to make sure I carry over center stations that involve a typing station that I've seen you post about!
ReplyDeleteI want to do a lot of new things next year! That is usually my problem I try to do TOO much. So I am going to focus on adding two new centers to my classroom. I am so excited to do something new and I think my students will benefit. Thank you for your posts and ideas. I love reading your blog! :)
ReplyDeleteYou have some great ideas and resources!
ReplyDeleteOne change I want to create this year, after moving from middle school to 1st-5th grades is have visuals for songs/stories during circle time, and a better way to organize them.
