My Favorite Freebie

Today, I am linking up with 2nd Grade Pad for My Favorite Freebies!

My favorite Freebie that I have created on Teachers Pay Teachers is Matching and Identifying Days and Months for Kids with Autism.

It's my favorite because...I use this every day in my classroom!  For my kids who are able to match, but still struggle to write, I use this interactive worksheet to work on calendar skills.

The Story behind it....When I first started in my classroom, I was told I should have a morning circle.  The problem was...none of my kids could keep their hands to themselves and none of them could attend to group instruction.  So, I decided I would make each kid a binder of interactive worksheets that related to each topic we covered in our morning group (i.e. attendance, calendar, weather, social skills, emotions, etc.).  Now, they have something to keep their hands busy and each child is guaranteed to attend to the material I wanted them to cover each day.

How to use it...I use this worksheet in my morning binders.  You could also use this for one-on-one instruction on IEP goals, or at an independent work station.  All you do to make it is laminate both pages, put velcro on the pieces/worksheet, and then you are ready to go!
