Welcome to day 2 of summer activities to keep your kiddos entertained and learning this summer. Today, I've compiled a lot of my favorite summer crafts to share with you. Working on crafts help keep up fine motor skills as well as works on building vocabulary, and following directions skills.
These crafts all include materials you should have easily accessible if not already laying around your classroom/house.
Fireworks crafts are perfect for summer! This one involves using pipe-cleaners (check out this post for more details).
This one is a simple tracing worksheet (from therapy fun zone) but targets lots of different types of line formations.
This last fireworks craft only requires crayons/colored pencils and paper. Just make a few dots spread out over the paper and draw little dashed lines going out around the dots. Make each firework as big or small as you want.
Work on learning formation of shapes, letters, or numbers using stickers! (Photo from Discover Explore Learn)
Check out this post about FREE sticker activities and following direction worksheets on Do To Learn's website.
Let your kiddos browse through magazines and cut out one small image. Then glue it to paper and have them draw to extend the image or create a scene for the image. See more on how to do this in this post.
Of course, making Kool-Aid play doh is always fun as well. Check out this link to my TPT store for a FREEBIE recipe and comprehension sheet.
Bubble Painting is another simple, yet fun activity. Check out this post for some tips on how to get the best results.
Any other fun summer crafts you have discovered? Please share!
I was asked to participate in this post by Personal Creations who are trying to help encourage parents to spend time working with their children to keep them always moving forward with their education (even during time off from school1). Soon, they will have a Pinterest Board with lots of summer activity ideas! Can't wait to share it with you once it is up and running!
Great summer ideas! I just ended ESY, but these would have been perfect. I'm thinking about sending home some play based homework next year. This is a great idea!
