Summer of Learning: Crafts

Welcome to day 2 of summer activities to keep your kiddos entertained and learning this summer. Today, I've compiled a lot of my favorite summer crafts to share with you. Working on crafts help keep up fine motor skills as well as works on building vocabulary, and following directions skills. 

These crafts all include materials you should have easily accessible if not already laying around your classroom/house. 

Fireworks crafts are perfect for summer!  This one involves using pipe-cleaners (check out this post for more details).

This one is a simple tracing worksheet (from therapy fun zone) but targets lots of different types of line formations.

This last fireworks craft only requires crayons/colored pencils and paper.  Just make a few dots spread out over the paper and draw little dashed lines going out around the dots.  Make each firework as big or small as you want.

Work on learning formation of shapes, letters, or numbers using stickers!  (Photo from Discover Explore Learn)

Let your kiddos browse through magazines and cut out one small image.  Then glue it to paper and have them draw to extend the image or create a scene for the image.  See more on how to do this in this post.
